About the Job

This is a full-time position with the duty station in Baku

Psychologist 2 implements Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities as defined in collaboration with the relevant coordinator at local and national level. S/he provides direct support to victims of armed conflict and/or other situations of according to the identified needs.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understands and adheres to the seven Fundamental Principles of the Organization;
  • Understands and adheres to the Organization Code of Conduct;
  • Understands the roles of the components of the Organization;
  • Respects and observes staff regulations and security rules at all times;
  • Represents the Organization in a professional, in an appropriate manner/way during activities, in meetings and in the field, and avoids any activity that may reflect negatively on the Organization’s image at all times;
  • Develops and maintains a pleasant and conducive working environment with colleagues and line managers;
  • Performs all duties with the highest level of confidentiality in the interest of the employees and the Organization;
  • May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary.
  • Collect and compile information according to procedures;
  • Execute field tasks independently and report to superior;
  • Act as technical focal point for projects with a psychological/mental health/psychosocial component;
  • Contribute to the implementation and follow-up of a project (within the department);
  • Make written reporting on the activities and contribute to the institutional reports;
  • Translate documents for informal use, non-institutional and institutional documents;
  • Provide solutions to a wide range of problems to the superior;
  • Develop and maintain contacts with partners and other interlocutors: authorities at municipal/regional level, local/regional branches, population, suppliers, etc.;
  • Contribute to design of new projects;
  • Provide the technical support to other departments when necessary.

 

About you

  • Excellent command of English and Azerbaijani
  • MA degree in clinical psychology
  • 3 years of clinical work experience, ideally with victims of violence including children.
  • Knowledge of the grief process and related issues
