Responsibilities 

• Assist in design and development of the network infrastructure including networking software, computer hardware and other;
• Establish network environment through defined, documented and enforced system standards;
• Perform modelling, analysis and installation of integrated network;
• Program and configure routers, switches and other equipment;
• Configure DNS servers;
• Configure hosted IP voice services;
• Monitor network availability, performance and utilization;
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve problems and outages;
• Maintain and troubleshoot:
• LAN, WLAN, WAN;
• Firewall landscape;
• Core and next generation network services (DNS, DHCP, access control; IDS, IPS, proxies, ATP, DLP, SD-WAN, etc.);
• VMware, Checkpoint and Microsoft virtualization technologies;
• VPN remote access solution;
• Maintain, configure and monitor virus protection software;
• Perform disaster recovery operations and data backups when required;
• Replace faulty network hardware components when required;
• Coordinate, evolve and implement network security techniques and monitor access;
• Configure and maintain firewall and manage security related to hacking;
• Design and implement new solutions to improve the resilience of current network environment;
• Assess live traffic patterns to optimize network capacity planning;
• Schedule and perform updates and upgrades to the latest releases;
• Report network operational status by managing projects and prioritizing information;
• Manage owned domain names and coordinate network access and use;
• Manage and audit IP addressing and hosted devices within data centres;
• Perform network operations across multiple on-prem and cloud sites;
• Remotely monitor and manage system alerts, troubleshoot and find faults;
• Provide technical support;
• Assist in preparation of all related network documentation.

Requirements

• At least Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field;
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in network administration and maintenance;
• Understanding the network infrastructure and hardware and knowledge of relevant protocols;
• Knowledge of the local area network (LAN), wireless local area network (WLAN) and wide area network (WAN - MPLS, VPLS, VPN);
• Proficiency in management and troubleshooting of the network infrastructure devices (access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers);
• Proficiency in switching (Capacity Planning & VLAN’s), routing (OSPF, RIPv2, BGP) and IP addressing;
• Quality of Service (QoS) and rate shaping;
• Checkpoint: CSSA/CSSP;
• Understanding of VPNs, POTS, VOIP, SIP Trunking, BGP, VLAN, Large Scale Wi-Fi Deployments;
• Understanding of OSI or related models;
• Proficiency with fiber-based PON LAN networks;
• Understanding of public cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure and AWS);
• Experience in network security, encryption and security concepts (DDoS protection, intrusion prevention and detection systems (IPS/IDS) and proxy servers);
• Security software (anti-virus, anti-SPAM, anti-Spyware and other);
• Virtual Private Network (VPN) and encryption/tunneling protocols;
• Ability to prepare documentation for design and planning network communication systems;
• Ability to learn quickly using trainings, documentation and internet resources;
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to perform well under pressure;
• Ability to work on call outside of regular working hours;
• Working well both independently and in team;
• Excellent communication skills.
• Understanding of other networks such as MANs, GANs, SAN, CAN, PAN, DAN;
• Additional certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), CompTIA Network+, etc.;
• Proficiency managing and configuring network monitoring tools;
• Networking certification (JNCIE/CCNA/CCNP/CCIE);
• Firewall certification (CCSA/CCSM/CSSA);
• Cloud certification (CSSP);
• Ability to multitask;
• Desire to learn, apply learnings and willingness to teach others.
