Senior Learning and Development Specialist

Responsibilities​

  • Coordinates closely with subject matter experts to inform high-quality course curriculum based on target audience need. ·
  • Identifies and experiments with innovative approaches to instructional design and facilitation. ·
  • Participate in the preparation of the Training Matrix and Budget for Training needs; ·
  • Leads the development and implementation of a professional KPI’s strategy. Takes a holistic view of professional development and training that fits within a spectrum of continuous learning for field-based staff; ·
  • Facilitates sector-wide consultations through the Professional Development Working Group to prioritize and plan for annual professional development plans and track activities implemented by a variety of partners; ·
  • Coordinates with the Knowledge Management specialist to ensure training materials are captured and re-packaged to extend their value beyond the immediate training beneficiaries; ·
  • Assisting with the coordination of all apprenticeship programs and work experience; ·
  • Proposals for the selection of internal trainers for public trainings, participation in demo trainings; ·
  • Provide support in creating staff development programs focusing on talent management, performance management and succession planning; ·

  • ·Identifies learning needs for individuals and senior management teams; ·
  • Designs and maintains training programs based on specific role requirements; ·
  • Support with training materials and new organizational development initiatives; 
  • Improves L&D processes to ensure all training is delivered consistently and effectively; ·
  • Work to ensure the smooth and effective functioning of training events (both live and e-learnings) by managing and coordinating the logistics, systems and vendor relationships for training programs and sessions; ·
  • Work closely with the learning and development team to design and communicate administrative procedures for the booking of both in-house and external training courses; ·
  • Ensure evaluation forms are completed and available for each development activity; ·
  • Maintain education support materials to be used for reference once training has been completed; 
  • Assist with periodic learning and development analysis, statistics and reports as requested

 

Requirements  ··

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related degree strongly desired. ·
  • Minimum of 4 years related professional experience required.··
  • Previous experience with KPI's systems, training/course materials, facilitation guides, and technology integration required. ·
  • Previous experience in training programs, including evaluation, required. ·
  • Strong communications and presentation skills ·
  • Ability to work independently, resourcefully and to own initiative, with flexibility to changing priorities and an eagerness to learn under pressure.
  • Previous experience working on international education development programs strongly desired.
