Anticipation of the Questions
A manager interview involved behavioral interview questions to determine the candidate’s level of competency in specific areas of the management remit. It’s therefore vitally important to prepare your job interview by viewing some of the likely behavioral job related interview questions such as the ones we have listed. Given your level of experience you will very likely anticipate some of the more complex questions that might be covered in the interview which will therefore determine your suitability for that role.

1) What management style have you found to be the most effective?
2) What type of people do you enjoy working with?
3) Is there anything about your management style you would like to change?

Management job interview questions will include those that investigate your understanding and knowledge of what management means in the context of today’s changing business environment, and helps you to demonstrate knowledge of the market and changing conditions.

There are a number of complex challenges that managers now face including having access to fewer resources, managing more specialized and more diverse teams and having to operate within a constantly changing and highly competitive environment. Relate your answer to the knowledge you have of the job, the company and the industry.

What is also critical is candidate’s ability to manage change and to respond to complex challenges relating to market conditions.

Refer back to the key behavioral competencies for a management position. Relate them to management tasks that are impacted on by current economic conditions, such as planning and executing, cost-control, developing and motivating employees and communicating and managing change.
